I decided to make a video to show you all that even hairstylists struggle to do our own hair. It’s easy when we stand behind you and effortlessly make your hair look great, but really we can only do so much when we can’t get behind ourselves.

I was hoping to be fully recovered by now and come back better than ever but I’m left feeling a bit raw. It’s as if I am seeing everything with new eyes. My perspective has shifted and I am over stimulated with thoughts. My mind is going a million miles an hour in different directions and it won’t slow down. It’s an amazing place to be in but the newness is uncomfortable and I find myself wanting to rush out of the process. Get back to the comfortable and known.
In the last few minutes of daylight I was able to snap this picture. With the salon door open and me standing outside I let in just enough light to capture Sarah’s hair.
My salon is a sacred space, a space for women to be heard and validated beyond their hair. I have created a consultation process to ensure we are not only hearing each other but we are being understood. We are connecting.
