HOW IT STARTED : MY STORY
I’ve been in the beauty industry for two decades and spent the last 11 years as a business owner. And man, I wish I knew then what I do now. And it’s my mission to help others avoid the same obstacles.
When I first went out on my own, I struggled. I worked insane hours in fear of business drying up, I had no idea how to deal with my finances, plus my personal life was in shambles. I had no one to turn to for help. I struggled along for the next few years completely faking it, scared that I would one day be exposed for the complete fraud that I felt I was.
I was stressed, anxious and running on empty, which landed me in the emergency room for what ended up being the scariest night of my life. That’s when everything changed. I couldn’t keep going at the pace I was at and was forced to slow down. I needed to maintain my income, but I had to scale back my hours and rethink my entire business.
It took me years of trial and error until realizing that working smarter, not harder was the key, as cliche as it sounds. My workaholic tendencies weren’t serving me or my business, and when I learned to work smarter I actually made more money in less time (say what?!).
Now, through my classes, online courses, business programs and mentoring I help other entrepreneurs see that success doesn’t lie in the hustle. But rather in the ability to rock it in their business while still having a life. Teaching them how to avoid the burn out, increase their income and having a life with balance is achievable.
Giving business owners back the power to own their business, rather than it owning them.
Who knew that shy, introverted, awkward girl, who as a kid was scared to even pick up the phone or talk to someone new, would push herself out of her comfort zone and become what she is today.
And in case you were curious… I love (like LOVE LOVE) pop music (Backstreet’s back… ALRIGHT!). I’ll eat almost anything with peanut butter in it. It’s a weakness, some may say a problem…
Dad jokes are my fav, I can’t resist cheesy humor. I always crack myself up before getting to the punch line. So, if you have any good jokes, please send them my way. Speaking of cheesy, I love nachos. Did I tell you that already? Seriously, I could eat them for every meal.
Right now, you’re most likely find me rocking some wicked bedhead, on the couch, snuggled up to my pup Walter (who’s a total loon and I’m completely obsessed with), downing some nachos, chilling out under my favourite blanket.
