Creating new habits or new ways of doing things is uncomfortable.

Are you getting a little too comfortable in your comfort zone? Does the thought of stepping out of it give you the anxious sweats? What if I told you that getting a little uncomfortable outside of your comfort zone could be the key to your success?

Keep reading and you’ll walk away knowing how to:

  • Get comfortable with being uncomfortable

  • Ditch the hustle for sustainable growth

  • Find success outside of your comfort zone

If you’ve been holding yourself back from your true potential inside of your comfort zone then this post is for you.

Buckle up, friend, as we dive into…

Stepping Outside of Your Comfort Zone to Find Success

P.S. I’m having a birthday sale for a limited time! I’m gifting you 39% off ALL my online programs. Check em out and grab em before the sale disappears

Let’s be honest, stepping outside of your comfort zone is never easy. I often find myself coming to a plateau with things and then dropping the ball and the momentum.

Like when it comes to working out, I’ll be really motivated to get uncomfortable, but then once I get into the groove and get to the point I wanted to be at, I find myself dropping off and falling back into my comfort zone.

And if I’m being honest, we probably always want to stay a little uncomfortable.

Why Is It Hard To Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone?

While it can be hard to get started, maintaining momentum is a lot easier than always restarting from the beginning.

This isn’t about hustling either. I don’t think you always have to be pushing for more, or bigger, or greater. But I do think it’s important to keep yourself in a place with a little bit of discomfort. Staying outside of your comfort zone can help make sure you’re maintaining a healthy balance.

And believe me, I get it. I can be all or nothing. I can go, go, go and then crash hard. But pushing myself out of my comfort zone gets me to the places that I’ve wanted to get to.

Whatever situation you find yourself in right now, whatever goal you’re striving for; maybe it’s cutting back hours, instilling better boundaries, raising your prices, whatever you’re looking to create, maintain, find or get back to, might take getting a little uncomfortable.

Creating new habits or new ways of doing things is uncomfortable.

Benefits Of Getting Out Of Your Comfort Zone

When Helena joined Rock Your Business at the beginning of the year she was feeling pretty apprehensive and nervous. She had invested in a lot of education before that hadn’t changed her business or her life, what was going to be different about this one?

It took weeks of consideration before she decided to take the leap and join the program. She realized that this was probably something that she needs and that there was a reason she kept hearing about it.

It can be scary stepping out of our comfort zone. We can spiral with anxious “what if” thoughts:

  • What if this goes wrong?

  • What if this is just another course collecting digital dust?

  • What if this doesn’t work?

  • What if… What if… What if…

Sometimes taking a risk or a leap of faith on yourself is the push you need. You have to lean into getting comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Motivation For Getting Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Sarah had a panic attack when she signed up for Rock Your Business and immediately asked for a refund.

Seeing the amount of money she had just spent sent her into an anxious spiral. She was so nervous about stepping out of her comfort zone that she actually emailed my team asking for a refund because she didn’t know if she would get her return on investment.

A totally valid fear, by the way! I sent her back a personal message reassuring Sarah that the program is different and that I would be there to support her, along with the rest of the community.

How real is that feeling of instant regret after purchasing something? You start out being so excited about the possibility, you’re fully believing in yourself and then all of a sudden after you click “confirm purchase” you immediately panic that you’ve made the wrong decision.

And I get it. I’ve bought things online before and been burned. It can be scary to give people money over the internet.

Maybe you’ve bought a bunch of online courses that you’ve never even logged into (definitely guilty of this).

I’ll be honest with you, Rock Your Business isn’t going to do the work for you. I wish it could. I wish it was a magical program that just transformed your life, business and bank account with a flick of a wand. But the reality is, you’re going to have to get uncomfortable and you’re going to have to do the work. But I promise you, it’s not hard work.

One of the coolest things about Rock Your Business is that each person’s experience is different and you take when you need when you need it. We’ve had students join while still in beauty school, we have commission stylists, lash artists, nail techs, independent beauty professionals in salon suites and salon owners.

Not every lesson is going to apply to your current situation. (But that doesn’t mean that lesson isn’t going to apply to a situation in the future.)

Past students have taken one or two lessons, applied them and focused on them to get BIG results before moving on to the next thing.

Why Getting Out Of Your Comfort Zone Is Important

Despite feeling apprehensive at first, Helena’s favourite part of Rock Your Business was the community. She felt seen and heard and felt like she was in a big group of friends. Being in that community with everybody was inspiring and the group was so comfortable.

Even though she asked for a refund, Sarah realized she wasn’t alone in feeling anxious or not having boundaries. She learned how to confidently set boundaries and she’s even reduced her anxiety by prioritizing herself.

Rock Your Business teaches you that you need to take care of yourself so that you can also take care of other people and your business.

Check out these posts from other RYB students

The RYB community is unlike any other. It’s real people struggling with everyday things. Not only does the community allow me to connect one-on-one with my RockStars, but it also increases their likelihood of success through accountability.

By listening to the RYB community I’m able to always grow the program and add new things. It’s not just an online course that’s going to go stale, it’s a living program.

Finding Success Outside Your Comfort Zone

Stepping out of your comfort zone is the key to getting to the place you want to go. You’re never going to feel ready. I don’t want you to wait until the moment that you feel “ready” or the moment when everything is “perfect”, because, friend, you’ll be waiting forever.

There is never going to be a perfect time or scenario, there’s never going to be a way to predict the results.

I want to encourage you to jump before you know how to land.

Oftentimes we think that we need to have it all figured out and we end up spiraling into anxiety trying to visualize all the possible scenarios and predict the future. When it’s impossible to predict the future. All we can do is commit to ourselves to doing our best, showing up, and following through.

Which is sometimes the scariest part. We don’t want to get out of our comfort zones because we don’t trust ourselves to follow through.

And maybe you don’t trust yourself right now. Maybe you’re scared that you won’t follow through. And that’s why I wanted to share Helena and Sarah’s stories in this post because they felt the exact same way before they committed to themselves.

They shared their biggest wins since completing Rock Your Business:

For Helena, it was letting go of emotional discounts. She wears her heart on her sleeve and is a very emotional being. So when her clients came in with a story, and everyone has a story, Helena was quick to discount her services. Realizing that you don’t go to the dentist, tell them a sob story and get a discount helped her confidently charge her worth. She now knows that there are other ways she can care for her clients without discounting her services.

Sarah was able to rebuild her business after moving to a new city without any stress or anxiety about finding clients. She knew that she had the tools from Rock Your Business to attract the clients that she wanted and build the business that she loved and desired to have.

I am so incredibly proud of Helena and Sarah for getting comfortable with being uncomfortable, stepping outside of their comfort zones and doing HUGE things for themselves and their businesses.

Thanks for hanging out today, friend. If you’re committed to getting out of your comfort zone, shoot me a DM over on Instagram @dawnbradleyhair, I seriously love hearing from ya.

See ya in the next one.
